The next outreach was carried out in Kambia District, in the village of Rukupr, on February 7, 2008.
The God's House Team revisited Ahmadiyya Secondary School and Magbema Secondary School.
During this outreach the team was Mrs. & Mr. Turay, L.E.G.A.C.Y., the driver, Molai, and local program
facilitator, Mr. Mohamed Turay. These two schools were chosen due to a successful event hosted by
God's House during February 2007. Revisiting these two schools provided a well-anticipated follow-up
session and reiteration of the message of HIV/AIDS prevention in recognition of the International Black
HIV/AIDS Awareness Day campaign.
A brief history of HIV/AIDS disease, basic pathophysiology, prevalence and incidence, and a condom
demonstration were presented. L.E.G.A.C.Y. gave a special awareness message and serenaded the
youth with her sultry voice.
We were also joined by two SPW youth peer volunteers from Rukupr. They informed us that they are
involved in ongoing HIV/AIDS sensitization sessions, as well as, condom demonstrations in the
community.
